Tetrahedron Element

Small test of FEM - a beam made of 40 nodes and 72 tetrahedrons is fixed in red points, and subject to gravity field. Computation can be seen in realtime on computer screen, the beam is moving up and down.

Importing FEM meshes from netgen, gmsh or tetgen is easily available, as well as from other FEM mesh generators.

This is a proof of concept implementation of FEM in yade and we hope that soon it will be extended with many other models and element types.
